Removal
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Remove the radiator grille and front cross member.
3. Remove the air conditioning compressor 5 (see figure 4.13a, 4.136).

4. Remove the cylinder head cover.
5. Loosen the bolts with gaskets 6 securing the pulley 7 of the power steering pump 8.
6. Remove the power steering pump 8 from the timing chain cover 20, secure it to the side together with the attached pipes.
7. Remove the guide roller 2 of the generator drive belt.
8. Remove tensioner 9 of the generator drive belt. Do not disconnect shock absorber 10 and tension roller 11 from the tension lever.
9. Using a puller, remove pin 1.
10. Remove the vacuum pump 12.
11. Remove the crankshaft groove pulley 13.
12. Remove the generator support 14. Do not remove the generator mounting bracket 15.
13. Unscrew the bolts with gaskets 16 securing the high-pressure fuel pump and remove them together with the nuts 17. The lower bolt with gasket can only be removed after removing the timing chain drive cover.
14. Mark the position of bracket 21 for fastening the TDC sensor of the first cylinder piston and remove it.
15. Unscrew the bolts 3 securing the timing chain drive cover 20.
16. Unscrew the bolt with gasket 4 securing the timing chain drive cover 20.
17. Unscrew the bolt with gasket 18 securing the timing chain drive cover 20. Loosen the pan securing bolts 19.
18. Unscrew bolts a, b, from the timing chain drive cover mount 20 (see figure 4.14).

19. Remove the timing chain drive cover 20.
20. Wipe the sealing surfaces and lubricate them with sealant before installing the cover
Installation
21. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Install the TDC sensor bracket for the first cylinder piston according to the previously made marks, check its installation and adjust it if necessary. Lubricate pin 1 with sealant before installation.
