Timing Chain Cover Installation Details
16 - Nut; 93, 101, 213, 217 - Brackets; 94 - Air pump; 96 - Timing chain cover; 96a - Fingers; 100 - TDC sensor; 210 - Fan clutch pulley; 273 - Coolant pump pulley; 284 - Power steering pump pulley; 326 - Generator
Removal
Bolts for fastening auxiliary drive pulleys
210 — Fan drive clutch pulley
273 — Water pump drive pulley
284 — Steering pump drive pulley
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Remove the air filter.
3. Unscrew the lower engine protective shield.

4. Remove the fan clutch.
5. Loosen the pulley mounting bolts.
6. Remove the generator drive belt.
7. Loosen the pulley mounting bolts (arrow) and remove the fan clutch pulleys (210), coolant pump (273) and power steering pump (284).
8. Remove the engine crankshaft pulley.
9. Open the radiator cap of the cooling system.
10. Mark the position of the camshaft sprockets relative to the timing chain.
11. Loosen and remove bolts (3) and (4). Remove bracket (213). Remove bolt (1) securing bracket (213) to combination bracket. Apply sealant 002 989 45 20 to front and rear holes (arrow) of bracket (213).

12. Unscrew the air supply pump from the bracket. 13. Unscrew the bolts (214) and (214a) and remove the fan bracket (217). Unscrew the nut (99). Remove the TDC sensor (100) together with the wiring and secure it to the side.
14. Disconnect the wires from the generator. Unscrew the bolts and remove the generator together with the bracket.
15. Unscrew the bolts securing the timing chain cover to the sump.
16. Remove the timing chain cover together with the TDC sensor bracket
17. Wipe the sealing surfaces of the cylinder block and timing chain cover.
Installation
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. The timing chain cover is installed on two 6 mm long pins. Do not damage the pan gasket. First, tighten the timing chain cover mounting bolts to the pan.
