1, 3, 15, 15a, 10 - Bolts; 2, 12 - Rings; 4 - Reinforcement; 5, 21 - Fingers; 6 - Nut; 7 - Front cover; 8, 11 - Sealing rings; 9 - Adapter; 13 - Camshaft sprocket; 14 - Setting piston; 16 - Regulator flange; 17 - Spring; 18 - Plunger; 19 - Retaining ring; 20 - Bushing; 22 - Camshaft


Removal



1. Set the piston of the first cylinder to TDC.

2. Remove the top cover.

3. Mark the position of the camshaft sprockets relative to the timing chain. 4. Loosen the bolt (3) while holding the fittings (4) (arrow). Remove the fittings (4).

5. Unscrew nut 6 and remove the cover with ring (12).



6. Unscrew the camshaft sprocket. 7. Remove the sprocket (13) and the adjusting piston (14). Unscrew the bolts (15) and (15a) and remove the flange (16) from the intake camshaft sprocket.

Installation



1. Install the flange (16) on the camshaft (22). Make sure that the pin 21 is installed correctly. 2. Install the piston (14) on the flange (16) in the intended position, turning it to the left. Lift the timing chain up.

3. Install the camshaft sprocket (13) onto the adjusting piston (14) in the designated position by turning it to the right; lift the timing chain before doing this.

4. Install the cover with ring (12) and tighten the nut (6), but do not tighten it completely.



5. Install the sprocket onto the exhaust camshaft.

6. Install the timing chain on both sprockets according to the marks. Tighten the nut (6) on the regulator.

7. Install the fitting (4) onto the plunger (18). Tighten the bolt (3). The roller pin (arrow) in the fitting (4) must be aligned with the flat surface on the plunger (18).
