In vehicles with a gasoline engine, the camshaft position sensor is located on the front end of the cylinder head cover near the camshaft drive sprocket.

Removal



1. Disconnect plug 1 and unscrew camshaft position sensor 2 using a socket wrench from cylinder head cover 3 (see illustration).

Installation



2 Secure the camshaft position sensor to the cylinder head cover using a new sealing ring and tighten it to 8 Nm.

3. Connect and secure the sensor plug.

Diesel Engine Cars



The camshaft position sensor is located on the cylinder head cover between the injectors of cylinders 3 and 4.

Removal and installation of the sensor is generally carried out in the same way as for cars with a gasoline engine.

The tightening torque of the sensor is 14 Nm.

Cylinder No.1 is located on the side of the auxiliary drive V-belt.
