Device
The camshaft position sensor (B6/1) contains a magnet (2) and an electronic circuit (5) that analyzes the Hall sensor signal.

Functioning
The camshaft position sensor signal and the crankshaft position sensor signal are shown in the figure VN 9.012 and VN 9.013, respectively.
