Purpose
Fuel temperature sensor (B50) placed in the injection pump (M41). If the fuel temperature is too high, then the pressure in the HPC decreases. Thus, the amount of fuel passing through the pressure control valve in the HPC is reduced (Y74) and, consequently, the temperature of the fuel decreases.
VN 9.019 Fuel temperature sensor; 1. Fuel temperature sensor B50; 2. High pressure fuel pump M41; 3. Fuel quantity control valve Y94
Design
The fuel temperature sensor B50 is designed on the basis of a resistor with a negative temperature coefficient of resistance.
Functioning
The resistance of a resistor with a negative temperature coefficient of resistance is inversely proportional to temperature.
