Determining the position of the crankshaft at a given moment in time and transmitting a signal to the engine control unit.
Placement and arrangement
The crankshaft position sensor is a contactless sensor. It is located on the cylinder block in such a way that there is an air gap between the flywheel teeth and the L5 sensor.

Skipping 2 teeth on the flywheel ensures that the start mark is included in the signal.
