Replacing piston rings
1 - Upper compression ring; 2 - Lower compression ring; 3 - Oil scraper ring; 4 - Expander coil spring; 8 - Expander spring ring; 10 - Tongs
1. Measure the gaps between the rings and pistons and the gaps in the ring joints (see Specifications).
2. Remove the piston rings using pliers (10).
3. Measure the width of the piston rings.
4. Install piston rings only with the identified width.
5. Install the rings with the "TOP" mark facing up.
6. Install the spring ring (8) with the lock opposite the lock of the oil scraper ring (3) (180°).
