The dimensional characteristics of the crankshaft are presented in Specifications. The designation on the front part of the crankshaft is shown in the accompanying illustration.

Measuring the crankshaft journal dimensions and installing new bearings



1. Remove the crankshaft and install the crankshaft main bearing caps and tighten them to 30 Nm.

2. Measure the main bearing bore diameter and the main journal diameter.

3. The selection of liners is carried out as follows:

Main bearing bore diameter (62.51 mm) - Main journal diameter (57.95 mm) = 4.55 mm - Radial clearance (0.04 mm) = 4.51 mm/2 = Bearing thickness (2.25 mm).



Based on the calculation results, the upper insert "blue" and the lower insert "blue" are selected (see Specifications).

4. The nominal values of the working clearances and axial clearances of the crankshaft main bearings are: 0.030-0.045 mm and 0.100-0.250 mm, respectively.

5. The working clearance in the connecting rod bearings is 0.020-0.050 mm.

6. The final dimensions and designation of the holes for the crankshaft main journals are given in Specifications.
