Contents: Removal ↡ Installation ↡ Checking and machining ↡ Replacing the flywheel ring gear ↡

Removal

1. Remove the gearbox.

2. Remove the clutch.

3. Lock the flywheel rotation with the lock.

4. Unscrew bolts 1 using key 6 (see figure 2.57).

5. Remove the flywheel 4 (with manual transmission) or torque converter disk 5 and disk 2 (with automatic transmission). Guide pins 3 center flywheel 4 or disk 5. Flywheel 4 and torque converter disk 5 are balanced separately and can be replaced separately without balancing.

Installation

6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Checking and machining

7. Remove the flywheel.

8. Remove the guide pins.

9. Measure the base dimensions a and b for processing. If the obtained value b is less than the permissible value, or if the required clutch surface reserve A is more than 1 mm, replace the flywheel. If surface A is processed, then surface B must also be processed (see figure 2.58). After processing, the adhesion surface must not show any shrinkage of holes and/or show any signs of vibration. If the marks or cracks are deeper than acceptable, replace the flywheel. The flywheel dimensions are given in Table 2.5.

10. Check the flywheel radial runout, flatness and height of the friction surface and the mounting surface.

11. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Replacing the flywheel ring gear

12. Remove the flywheel.

13. Remove the ring gear.

14. Drill a hole on the surface of the gear ring and install a chisel or quickly heat and remove immediately (see figure 2.59). Check the diameter of the flywheel flange under the ring gear.

2. Flywheel, "a". Flywheel flange diameter.

15. Before installation, wipe the mating surfaces of the flywheel and ring gear. Heat the ring gear (no more than 220°C) and install it on the flywheel. Check the ring gear runout. Install the flywheel onto the engine.

Flywheel flange diameter "a":
  • on the ring gear - 275.000-275.052 mm;
  • on the flywheel - 275.315-275.396 mm.

The permissible runout of the gear ring is 0.25 mm.
