9. Remove brackets 19, 17, 18.

10. Disconnect the power steering pump 13 with pipes and secure it to the side.

11. Remove the oil radiator 14.

12. Set the piston of the first cylinder to the position 20° after TDC (arrow).

13. Lock the camshafts with clamps 12.

14. Mark the position of camshafts 10 and 11 relative to the drive chain (arrows).

15. Remove chain tensioner 9.

16. Remove the camshaft pulleys.

17. Remove the chain guide lever pin 21 (see figure 2.9 in).

21. Remove the chain drive cover 28. Do not damage the cylinder head gasket (arrows) or the sump. They can be replaced if necessary.

22. Replace the front crankshaft oil seal 33.

23. Wipe the sealing surfaces of the chain drive cover 28 and the cylinder block.

Installation

24. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Install the drive chain so that the marks made earlier are aligned with the marks on the camshaft pulleys (arrows) (see figure 2.9 b). Replace the camshaft pulley mounting bolts. Lubricate the guide lever pin 21 and insert it into the cylinder block until it stops. When installing cover 28, lift the drive chain up so that no loop is formed between the crankshaft pulley and the chain. Lubricate the sealing surfaces with sealant. Make sure that no sealant gets into the oil hole 29 of the drive chain tensioner (see figure 2.9 g). Replace seal 27.
