- Loosen the oil pump mounting bolts and remove it. The pump is fixed with three bolts: two on one side and one on the opposite side. On a five-cylinder engine, in addition, a support bracket is installed, fixed to the pump and the bottom of the crankcase. On fig. 123 and 124 show the pump in the installed position. To access the pump on a five-cylinder engine, the intake manifold support must also be removed;
- if necessary, unscrew the plug of the oil pump pressure reducing valve. It is under pressure, so you should hold it before turning it all the way out. Remove the valve parts from the inner hole and carefully check;

- installation of the oil pump is carried out in reverse order. On fig. 125 shows how the pump is mounted on both types of engines. Tighten the fastening bolts with a torque of 25 Nm. Put the pump drive sprocket on the shaft so that the corresponding places match (pic. 126).
Oil pump repair
The oil pump is beyond repair. If the reason for removing the pump was a loss of oil pressure, the oil pump should be replaced. When replacing, carefully check the drive chain and sprocket to ensure that a new pump is not installed with worn drive parts.
