3. Loosen the four bolts 1 securing the water pump drive belt pulley (see arrows in the…

4. Remove the V-belt 2 (see illustration 7.3).

5. Completely unscrew the water pump drive belt pulley mounting bolts and remove the belt pulley from the water pump shaft.

If the coolant hose 3 is attached to the water pump with bolts 4 (see illustration 7.3), That:

6. Unscrew two bolts 4 and 5 (see illustration 7.3). Unscrew the third bolt from the oil filter mounting bracket and remove the coolant hose from the cylinder block by pushing the hose upward.

Installation

10. Clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder block and water pump.

11. Install the water pump in place, replacing it with a new profiled rubber gasket, and secure it with bolts. The tightening torque of the water pump mounting bolts is 8 Nm.

12. Install, if removed, the coolant circulation hose with a new gasket into the hole in the cylinder block.

Attention! To facilitate installation of the gasket, it is recommended to moisten it with a soap solution.

13. Screw in the mounting bolts without tightening them.

Bolt tightening sequence and torques:
  • socket head bolt on cylinder block with 14 Nm torque;
  • multi-head socket head bolt on water pump with 8 Nm torque applied;
  • socket head bolt on the oil filter housing with a force of 8 Nm.

14. Install the belt pulley and tighten it lightly with the bolts.

15. Lay the V-belt, see the relevant chapter.

16. Tighten the four bolts 1 securing the water pump drive belt pulley (see illustration 7.3). Tightening torque 8 Nm.

17. Raise the engine on the front axle cross member and secure it.
