PARKTRONIC is automatically activated when you turn on the ignition and release the parking brake.
At speeds above 18 km/h, the PARKTRONIC system is deactivated. At a lower speed, the PARKTRONIC system is activated again.
The PARKTRONIC system monitors the parking situation with six sensors in the front bumper and four sensors in the rear bumper around your car.

Range of sensors
The sensors must be free from dirt, ice and snow, otherwise they cannot function properly. Clean the sensors regularly to avoid scratching or damaging them.

Range of sensors
Front sensors
- 8 middle - about 100 cm
- At the corners - about 70 cm
Rear sensors
- In the middle - about 160 cm
- At the corners - about 100 cm
Minimum distance
- In the middle - about 30 cm
- At the corners - about 25 cm
When parking, pay particular attention to objects that are below or above the sensors, such as flower pots or trailer drawbars. The PARKTRONIC system does not recognize such objects at close range. They can damage your car.
The operation of the PARKTRONIC system may be disturbed due to the presence of sources of ultrasound (e.g. pneumatic brake system of trucks or pneumatic hammer), the presence of attachments on the vehicle, such as, for example, systems for transporting goods or bicycles.

If there is an obstacle in this zone, all warning lamps are lit and a warning sound signal sounds. If the distance is less than the minimum, then this distance may not be displayed.
Signaling devices
Signaling devices show the distance between the sensors and the obstacle. The indicator for the front zone is located in the middle of the instrument panel. The indicator for the rear area is located at the rear in the headlining.

Front zone alarm:
- 1. Left side of the car
- 2. Right side of the car
The indicator is subdivided for each side of the vehicle into six yellow and two red segments.
If the first yellow segment lights up at full glow, then the PARKTRONIC system is ready for measurement.
If only the red segments of all warning lamps are lit, then there is a malfunction. The activation of the signaling devices is determined by the direction of the vehicle.
If your vehicle is approaching an obstacle, one or more segments will light up depending on the distance,
Starting with the first red segment, you hear an additional warning tone for approximately three seconds. In this case, the distance is reduced to a minimum.
The system is switched on and off by alternately pressing button 1. When the system is switched on, indicator 2 lights up. When the trailer is installed, the PARKTRONIC system for the rear is switched off.
