Electronic Vehicle Body Level Control System (ENR) (Mercedes-Benz Vito W639)

Contents: Manual mode ↡ Lowering the car body ↡ Setting the normal level ↡ Level warning ↡ Deactivation of the ENR system ↡
The rear axle of your vehicle is equipped with elastic pneumatic elements with electronic level control (ENR). With the help of ENR, the vehicle body is kept at the same level regardless of the degree of loading.

Manual mode

Open the trunk lid or door.

Press button 2 on the right side wall in the rear passenger compartment/luggage compartment for 2 seconds in the desired direction.

The ENR system switches to manual mode. When the body is raised or lowered, the ENR indicator light in the instrument cluster and indicator light 3 in the ENR-off button on the rear control panel flash.

Lowering the car body

Press button 2 at the bottom and keep it pressed until the vehicle body level reaches the desired position.

Raising and lowering stops automatically when the vehicle body reaches the highest or lowest level.

Setting the normal level

Briefly press button 2 at the top or bottom.

The ENR system raises or lowers the vehicle body automatically to the normal level.

If you want to stop the car body in a certain position, briefly press button 2 again or press the ENR-off button (1) in any direction.

If a critical fault occurs during ENR operation, the indicator light in the instrument cluster lights continuously and the ENR system is deactivated.

Level warning

If the vehicle body level is too high or too low while driving, the indicator light will come on blinks in the instrument cluster.

ENR ensures the fastest possible adaptation of the body level.

Caution: While the warning light is on, drive the vehicle with caution as damage to the chassis or instability of the vehicle's driving characteristics cannot be ruled out.

After the adaptation has been completed, the indicator light in the instrument cluster goes out.

Deactivation of the ENR system

The ENR system is deactivated automatically:
  • if you turn off the engine and the battery is not sufficiently charged;
  • after repeated raising/lowering of the car body (compressor overheating).

If you park your car (ignition off, key removed), then the ENR system remains active for another 5 minutes. Then, to avoid discharging the battery, it goes into a rest state.

The ENR system is reactivated when one of the doors is unlocked or opened, or when the ignition is turned on.
