Start interlock device (authorized engine start system)
Inclusion
The start interlock device is activated when the key is removed from the ignition switch.
Shutdown
The start lock disengages when turned to position (2).
Anti-theft alarm system
When the anti-theft alarm is on, a light and sound alarm is triggered when opening:
- doors;
- tailgate/lids;
- hood.
Activation of the anti-theft alarm system
- Lock the car with the button.
The anti-theft alarm system will activate after approximately 15 seconds. Control lamp 1 in the switch flashes.
Deactivating the anti-theft alarm system
- Open the car with the button.
The anti-theft alarm system is disabled.
If within 40seconds after the vehicle is unlocked, no doors or lid/door of the vehicle are opened, the vehicle is automatically re-locked.
The alarm is triggered if the car has been locked with the key but unlocked from the inside.
Turn off the alarm
With a key
- Insert the key into the ignition switch. This will turn off the alarm.
Or press the button.
Towing protection device
If the tilt of the vehicle changes when the towing protection device is activated, an audible alarm will sound.
The towing protection alarm is triggered, for example, when the vehicle is lifted on one side
Activating the towing protection device
If you lock your vehicle, the towing protection device automatically activates after approximately 30seconds.
If you unlock your vehicle, the tow protection device will automatically turn off.
Disabling the towing safety device during transport
Turn off the tow protection device when transporting or loading your vehicle. This will prevent false alarms.
The button is located in the overhead control panel.

Attention: if the ignition key is in position 2, the towing protection device cannot be switched off.
- Click on the button 1.
Control LED 2 on the button lights up briefly.
- Lock the car with the key.
The towing protection device remains disabled until you lock your vehicle again.
Interior protection device
An audible and visual alarm will sound if your vehicle is locked and:
- someone breaks the side windows of your car and reaches into the passenger compartment;
- someone reaches through the open side windows of your car into the passenger compartment.
The button is located in the overhead control panel.

Switching on interior protection
- Close:
- side windows;
- lifting-sliding top hatch;
- panoramic sliding roof.
As long as the sliding/tilting sunroof or panoramic sliding roof is open, the interior protection cannot be activated.
- Lock your car with the key.
The interior protection device is activated after approx 30seconds.
Do not leave any items (e.g. talismans or other pendants) hanging from the interior rear-view mirror or from the handles on the ceiling of the passenger compartment. This will prevent false alarms.
Switching off the interior protector
If people or animals remain in the locked vehicle, the interior protection device must be switched off. This will prevent false alarms.
Turn the ignition key to position 0or 1, or remove the key.
Click on the button 2. The control LED on the button flashes briefly
The interior protection device remains disabled until you lock your vehicle again.
