Removal



The bottom is covered with three large and several small plastic lids.

Warning! Jacking up a vehicle can pose a risk of injury. Please read the safety precautions beforehand.


1. Jack up the car and place it on jack stands.

2. Cars with petrol engine. Remove protective cover 1 at the front right by unscrewing the mounting bolts (see arrows in the illustration).

4. Remove cover 5 on the right side of the bottom by unscrewing the mounting bolts (see illustration). This cover is attached to the cover on the left side.

5. Unscrew the cover mounting bolts 6 on the right side and remove it. This cover is also connected to the cover on the left side (see illustration 26.4).

6. Disconnect the exhaust pipe at the place where the catalytic converter is installed, and for vehicles with a diesel engine - near the first catalytic converter, and release it from the suspension, see the relevant chapter.

7. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the exhaust pipe suspension bracket.

8. Unscrew the nut on the fuel tank.

9. Remove the left cover 7 (see illustration 26.4).

Installation



Installation of engine and underbody protection is performed in the reverse order of removal.

The nut securing the left cover to the fuel tank is tightened with a force of 30 Nm.
