Vehicles with a gasoline engine.
Removing
The bottom is closed with three large and several small plastic covers.
Attention! Jacking up the vehicle carries the risk of injury. Read the precautions first.
1. Jack up the vehicle and place it on jack stands.
2. Cars with a gasoline engine. Remove the protective cover 1 in front on the right by unscrewing the fastening bolts (see arrows in illustration).
3. Vehicles with a diesel engine. First, remove the bottom protection 2 in front on the left, then in the middle 3, and then on the right 4, unscrewing the mounting bolts (see illustration).
4. Remove cover 5 on the right side of the bottom by unscrewing the mounting bolts (see illustration). This cover is attached to the cover on the left side.
5. Unscrew the cover fastening bolts 6 on the right side and remove it. This cover is also connected with the cover on the left side (see illustration 26.4).
6. Disconnect the exhaust pipe at the location of the catalyst, and for vehicles with a diesel engine - near the first catalyst and release it from the suspension, see relevant chapter.
7. Unscrew bolts of fastening and remove an arm of a suspension bracket of a pipe of release OG.
8. Unscrew the nut on the fuel tank.
9. Remove left cover 7 (see illustration 26.4).
Installation
Installing the engine and bottom protection is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
The nut securing the left cover to the fuel tank is tightened with a force of 30 Nm.
