Attention! The engine overload protection system is installed only on a turbocharged engine.
The engine overload protection system is used to limit engine power when the turbocharger pressure relief valve fails. A pressure sensor installed in the intake manifold measures the pressure and switches when the pressure exceeds the required value. The pressure switch turns off the valve, which shuts off the vacuum to the diaphragm assembly mounted on the fuel pump. In this case, the fuel pump reduces the fuel supply to a value, as in a non-turbo engine.
In the engine overload protection system, it is only possible to replace the pressure sensor and the vacuum solenoid valve.
Pressure meter
Removing
1. The pressure sensor is located on the side of the intake manifold storage chamber next to the glass washer reservoir.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the pressure sensor.
3. Unscrew the pressure sensor from the intake manifold and remove the O-ring.
Installation
1. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
Vacuum solenoid valve
Removing
1. The vacuum solenoid valve is located at the rear of the engine compartment.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the vacuum solenoid valve.
3. Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the vacuum solenoid valve.
4. Unscrew the screw and remove the vacuum solenoid valve.
Installation
1. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal. Check that the vacuum hoses are installed correctly.
