Car transmission elements Mercedes E-Class (W210)

The transmission consists of a clutch, gearbox, cardan shaft, final drive and rear wheel drive shafts. To transfer the torque produced by the engine to the drive wheels, all transmission components must work as smoothly as possible. To do this, they are connected to each other by a system of hinges, shafts and gears.

The engine develops sufficient power only in a narrow range of crankshaft speeds. To ensure that your Mercedes still develops sufficient traction when overtaking and climbing hills, a gearbox with different gear ratios is available.
