Difficulty shifting gears
Problems with gear shifting can be associated with a malfunction of the gearbox itself, or with wear on the shift mechanism. In this case:
1. Consult an experienced specialist. To fix the problem, it may be necessary to remove, disassemble, repair, or even replace the gearbox.
2. If the gear shifts poorly on a new vehicle, an assembly error may be the cause. Claims must be made during the warranty period.
3. The shift mechanism may be incorrectly installed or its mounting worn at the front of the gearbox or at the rear of the shift lever. Make sure the shift mechanism at the base of the lever is always well lubricated.
4. If the shift lever is noticeably easier to move to one of the positions, the corresponding rod may have come loose.
