Sequence of works
The following are possible places for oil leaks from a manual gearbox:
1. The place where the gearbox is connected to the engine.
2. The place where the cardan shaft is connected to the gearbox.
3. Filler plug.
4. Drain plug.
To detect oil leaks from a manual transmission, perform the following operations:
1. Clean the gearbox housing with cold cleaner.
2. Powder potential leak areas with lime or talc.
3. Take a test drive. To make the oil liquid, you need to drive about 30 km on the highway.
4. Place the vehicle on stands and use a flashlight to inspect possible leaks.
5. If a leak is detected, fix it immediately.
