Sequence of work
The following places for oil leaks from a manual gearbox are possible:
1. The place of attachment of the gearbox to the engine.
2. The place of attachment of the cardan shaft to the gearbox.
3. Filler plug.
4. Drain plug.
To detect oil leaks from a manual gearbox, do the following:
1. Clean the gearbox housing with a cold cleaner.
2. Powder the places of possible leaks with lime or talc.
3. Take a test drive. In order for the oil to become liquid, it is necessary to drive about 30 km along the highway.
4. Place the car on stands and use a flashlight to inspect possible leaks.
5. If a leak is found, fix it immediately.
