Removing
1. Mark with paint the position of the front wheel on the hub. This will allow the assembly to set the balanced wheel in its original position.
2. Loosen the wheel bolts. The vehicle must be on wheels during this operation.
3. Place the front of the car on jack stands and, having unscrewed the wheel bolts, remove the wheel.
4. Unscrew the bolts 1 and remove the bottom cover (see illustration).
5. Unscrew bolts 2, 3, 5, unscrew nuts 4 and 6 and remove expansion clamps 7 (see illustration 30.4).
6. Remove the front part A of the fender liner (see illustration 30.4).
7. Disconnect the ABS/ESP plug 1 located behind the suspension strut by pulling up the wire clamp 2 (see illustration).
8. Remove the rear fender liner.
Installation
The fender liner is installed in the reverse order of removal.
9. Establish a forward wheel according to the marks put at removal. Before doing this, lubricate the wheel disc seat on the hub with a thin layer of bearing grease.
Do not grease wheel bolts. Screw in the wheel bolts and lower the car.
Tighten the nuts in a cross pattern to 110 Nm.
