Removal
1. Open the hood.
2. Unscrew the bolt securing the hood release handle, which is located in the passenger compartment.
3. Release the hood release handle and disconnect the hood lock drive cable from it.
4. Remove bushing 1 of the drive cable from the dividing wall of the engine compartment (see illustration).
5. Remove the washer reservoir 2 by pressing its clamping lever 3 (see illustration 35.4).
6. Tie a string to the end of the drive cable, which will make it easier to install the cable later.
7. Remove the hood lock, see the relevant chapter.
8. Pass the cable between the headlight and the upper front cross member and pull it out. Remember the cable routing so that you can later install it in its original position.
Installation
The installation of the hood lock drive cable is performed in the reverse order of removal.
