Disconnecting the drive cable from the hood lock (Mercedes-Benz C-Class W203)

Removal



1. Pull the hood lock cable drive lever (1) and disconnect the rear cable (2).


1. Pull the hood lock cable drive lever (1) and disconnect the rear cable (2).

2. Remove the cover under the instrument panel, refer to the relevant section.

3. Open the hood and place it vertically.

4. Remove the bonnet lock (3), refer to the relevant section.

5. Disconnect the front hood release cable (4) at the lock.

6. Open the branch assembly cover (5) and disconnect the rear hood drive (2) from the branch assembly.

7. Release the front hood drive (4) from the clamp holders (6) and remove it together with the branch assembly (5) from the engine compartment.

Note: To remove the rear hood lock actuator (2), first remove the fuse box in the engine compartment. Then remove the rubber seal (7) from the engine compartment bulkhead and finally remove the rear hood lock actuator from the engine compartment.


Installation



Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
