The entire underbody system, including the rear wheel arches, is coated with a layer of polyvinyl chloride to protect against corrosion. Particularly dangerous areas in the rotation zone of the front wheels are protected against the ingress of gravel by plastic shells. In addition, the parts of the body that are susceptible to corrosion are made of high-strength or galvanized sheet metal. Before the onset of cold weather and after washing the underbody, its anti-corrosion protection should be checked and, if necessary, additional preservation should be carried out. Dust, clay and sand can be deposited in the centrifugal area of the base of the body. It is especially important to remove accumulated dirt, which in winter can also be enriched with salt.
