Cooling system — checking, adjusting the concentration of antifreeze with anti-corrosion additives (Mercedes-Benz Vito W639)

To check and adjust the level and composition of the coolant, follow these steps:.

1. Unscrew the cover (2) (drawing VN 1.003).

2. Check the coolant level.

Caution: The coolant level should only be checked and adjusted when the coolant temperature is below 50°C.


The cooling system is filled correctly if the coolant level is between the MAX and MIN marks.

3. Check the concentration of antifreeze.

If the concentration of antifreeze is low, it should be adjusted.

4. Correct the coolant level

Caution: Coolant should only be used in the correct component proportions (see table).


5. Install the cover (2).
