Anti-theft alarm

1 Control LED for single lock switch on center console

The alarm system is ready for operation after approximately 15 seconds if the vehicle has been locked with the electronic key or smart card. This is confirmed by the flashing of the control LED "1".

If the vehicle is unlocked using the electronic key or smart card, the hazard warning system is deactivated.

Note: If the vehicle was unlocked with a mechanical key rather than an electronic key or smart card, an alarm will sound.

The alarm can only be turned off by inserting the electronic key into the ignition switch, pressing the buttons or on the electronic key or, if a valid smart card is present, by grasping the door handle or pressing the start/stop button on the selector lever.

The alarm is triggered if, when the anti-theft alarm is operational:

  • the door was open,
  • the trunk was open,
  • the hood was open.

Audible alarm: An additional intermittent audible signal sounds for 30 seconds.

Light warning signal: The warning light signal lights flash for about 5 minutes at double the flashing frequency.

The alarm remains activated even if, for example, an open door is immediately closed.

The switch is located on the center console

Press the switch:
  • 1 Switching off the towing protection device
  • 2 Switching off the interior protection device

Disabling the tow protection device

To avoid false alarm activation, the tow-away protection device must be switched off during intended transport or loading of the vehicle onto a transport vehicle.

Turn the electronic key in the ignition switch to position 0 or 1.

Press the switch at the top "1". The control LED on the single lock switch lights up briefly.

If the interior protection device should also be switched off, wait until the indicator LED goes out.

Lock your car with an electronic key or smart card.

The tow-away protection device remains disabled until the next time the vehicle is locked with the electronic key or smart card.

Interior protection device

The interior protection device is ready for use after approximately 30 seconds if the vehicle has been locked with an electronic key or smart card.

The alarm is triggered in the event of breaking of the side windows and penetration into the passenger compartment.

Note: Raise the side windows and close the tilt/slide sunroof.

Do not leave any objects (for example, talismans or hangers) suspended from the interior rear-view mirror or from the grab handles on the ceiling of the passenger compartment - they can cause a false alarm.

Disabling the interior protection device

If people or animals are to remain in the locked vehicle, turn off the interior protection device to avoid triggering a false alarm.

Turn the electronic key in the ignition switch to position 0 or 1.

Press the switch at the bottom "2". The control LED on the single lock switch flashes briefly.

If the tow-away protection device should also be switched off, wait until the indicator LED goes out.

Lock your car with an electronic key or smart card.

The interior protection device remains deactivated until the next time the vehicle is locked with the electronic key or smart card.
