Anti-theft alarm
The layout of the main components of the anti-theft system is shown in the illustration. The anti-theft system is activated approximately 10 seconds after the car is locked using the remote control and is accompanied by the operation of the control LED on the console section of the instrument panel. At attempts of unauthorized entry into the car, the system activates the signal siren and direction indicators intermittently (with double flashing frequency). The siren turns off automatically after 30 seconds, direction indicators - after 4 minutes.
Note. Closing an unlocked door does not disable the anti-theft alarm.
Unlocking the doors with the remote control automatically disables the anti-theft alarm.
Note. When the driver's door is opened with the key, the anti-theft alarm is triggered and can only be disabled using the remote control or by turning the key in the ignition switch to position 1.
The alarm is triggered when you try to unlock any of the car's doors (including tailgate), when you try to open the hood, change the position of the car, as well as when breaking any of the windows.
Towing protection device
With the appropriate configuration, the activation of the device leads to the operation of an anti-theft alarm when an attempt is made to tow the car. A description of the rules for activating and deactivating the device is given in Section Controls and interior equipment.
Intrusion protection device
With the appropriate configuration, activation of the device to trigger an anti-theft alarm in case of unauthorized entry into the car interior. The operation of the device is based on ultrasonic volume sensors installed inside the cabin.
The activation of the device occurs approximately 60 seconds after the car is locked using the single lock remote control.
Breaking windows and sticking your hands into the car will set off the anti-theft alarm.

Start blocking device
The device is activated automatically when the key is removed from the ignition switch.
To turn off the device, simply insert the key equipped with the appropriate microchip into the ignition lock and turn it to position 2.
If the engine does not start and the odometer display screen alternately shows «START» And «ERROR», therefore, there is a malfunction of the start interlock device and the car should be taken to a Mercedes-Benz service station for troubleshooting.
