Anti-theft alarm

The anti-theft alarm system is activated approximately 15 seconds after the vehicle is locked using the remote control and is accompanied by the activation of a control LED built into the console key switch for activating the single lock/disabling the towing protection systems/anti-intrusion switch (see Vehicle equipment, arrangement of instruments and controls). In case of unauthorized entry into the car, the system activates the siren and turn signals in intermittent mode. The siren is switched off automatically after 30 seconds, and the turn signals - after 5 minutes.

Please note: Closing an open door does not disable the anti-theft alarm.

Unlocking the doors using the remote control automatically disables the anti-theft alarm.

Attention! When the driver's door is opened with the key, the anti-theft alarm is triggered and can only be deactivated by inserting the key into the ignition switch and turning it to position 2.

Anti-tow device

If the device is equipped accordingly, activation of the device triggers the anti-theft alarm when attempting to tow the vehicle. A description of the rules for activating and deactivating the device is provided in Section Interior controls and equipment this Chapter (see Vehicle equipment, arrangement of instruments and controls).

Device for protection against unauthorized entry into the passenger compartment

If equipped accordingly, the device is activated to trigger the anti-theft alarm system when an unauthorized entry into the vehicle's interior is attempted. The device's operation is based on ultrasonic volume sensors installed inside the interior.

The device is activated approximately 60 seconds after the vehicle is locked using the remote control of the single lock.

Breaking the glass and putting your hands inside the car will trigger the anti-theft alarm.

A description of the rules for activating and deactivating the device is provided in Section Interior controls and equipment this Chapter (see Vehicle equipment, arrangement of instruments and controls).

Start interlock device

The device is activated automatically when the key is removed from the ignition switch.

To disable the device, simply insert the key equipped with the appropriate microchip into the ignition switch and turn it to position 2.

If the engine does not start and the odometer display alternately shows the messages "START" and "ERROR", then there is a malfunction in the starter interlock device and the vehicle should be taken to a Mercedes-Benz service station to have the malfunction rectified.
