Electronic skid control system (ESP) (Mercedes-Benz G-Class W463)

0
Attention! When any of the differentials is locked, ESP is automatically switched off!

Attention! The anti-skid system is most effective only if the vehicle is equipped with wheels specified in Specifications standard sizes!

The ESP system increases the vehicle's stability while driving and simultaneously provides automatic control of the powertrain's traction force in all operating modes.

Controlled braking of the wheels counteracts skidding and improves vehicle control.

If necessary, the anti-skid system can be forcibly switched off using the corresponding console switch on the instrument panel (see Section Interior controls and equipment). When the ESP system is deactivated, the ETS/ESP warning indicator lamp integrated into the speedometer assembly is activated (see Section Instrument cluster, gauges, control lamps and indicator lights). The system is reactivated using the same switch.

Note: If the anti-lock brake system (ABS) fails, the traction control system is also disabled.
