Attention! When checking the towing of a vehicle with one of the axles off the ground, as well as when checking the efficiency of the parking brake on a test bench, the engine must be turned off to avoid damage to the brake system as a result of the anti-slip system being activated!
The operation of the ETS system ensures increased directional stability of the vehicle at any speed and, in addition, prevents slippage of the drive wheels when starting off and during sudden acceleration on slippery road surfaces.
The system is activated automatically when the vehicle is moving at speeds from 40 to 80 km/h.
The operation of the ETS is monitored simultaneously with the state of the anti-skid system (ESP) - the driver is warned of a dangerous decrease in the coefficient of adhesion of the tires to the road surface by activation of the lamp in the flashing special indicator lamp 4-ETS/ESP (see Section Instrument cluster, gauges, control lamps and indicator lights).
If a fault is detected in the traction control system, the 4-ETS indicator lamp is activated (see Section Instrument cluster, gauges, control lamps and indicator lights).
When the LOW mode of the transfer case is activated, the 4-ETS system is switched to a special operating mode that ensures increased reliability of traction control.

Maximum efficiency of 4-ETS in winter is achieved when using M+S class tires (for driving on mud and snow).
Attention! Using tires of different sizes on the drive axle leads to a noticeable decrease in the effectiveness of the anti-slip system!
Note: When the brakes are under high load, the 4-ETS system is automatically switched off briefly to prevent the brakes from overheating. This switching off is accompanied by the activation of the indicator lamp.
Note: If the anti-lock brake system (ABS) fails, the traction control system is also disabled, with the anti-skid system disabled (see Section Electronic skid control system (ESP)) 4-ETS continues to function.
