Crankshaft Groove Pulley (Mercedes-Benz Vito W638)

Removal



1. Remove the alternator drive belt.

2. Set the piston of the first cylinder to TDC. Key 7 should be facing up.

3. Lock the flywheel with the locking device 18 (see figure 2.28).

4. Unscrew the central bolt 5 with adjusting linings 6 (see figure 2.28, 2.29). Before installation, lubricate the adjusting linings 6 and the thread of the central bolt 5. Install the adjusting linings 6 with the convex surface towards the bolt head.

5. Remove the crankshaft groove pulley 1. Before installation, the groove in the groove pulley must be aligned with the keyway on the crankshaft.



Examination



6. Check the condition of the front crankshaft oil seal and replace it if necessary. Check the groove pulley for radial and axial runout and replace it if necessary.
  • Radial runout: 0.6 mm.
  • Axial runout: 0.5 mm.

Installation



7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
