Crankshaft pulley/vibration damper
Removal
1. To improve access, remove the radiator fan blades and shroud as described in Chapter 3.
2. Remove the accessory drive belt as described in Chapter 1A.
3. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the pulley/damper from the hub. If necessary, hold the pulley/damper from turning using the head of a wrench on the hub mounting bolt.
Installation
4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Install the accessory drive belt as described in Chapter 1A and install the radiator fan blades and shroud as described in Chapter 3.
Hub
Removal
Warning: The hub mounting bolt is very tight. When loosening the bolt, a hub locking device is required. Do not use random or unintended tools for this purpose, as this may cause injury or damage.
Note: A hub puller may be required to remove the hub. A torque wrench capable of applying up to 300Nm of torque may be required for installation.
5. Remove the crankshaft pulley as described earlier in this paragraph.
6. Assemble the hub retaining device. You can make a device from two metal rods connected using an axial bolt. Secure the anti-cranking device for the hub with the pulley / vibration damper bolts.
7. Using a socket wrench and a long lever, loosen the hub bolt. Note that the bolt is very tight.
8. Unscrew the hub bolt and remove the spring washers.

9. Where required, remove the lower mounting bolt from the tensioner damper spacer and rotate the spacer away from the hub.
10. Using a suitable puller, remove the hub from the crankshaft.
11. Where provided, remove the woodruff key from the crankshaft.
Installation
12. Where provided, install the woodruff key into the groove on the crankshaft.
13. Align the groove in the hub with the key and place the hub on the end of the shaft.
14. Lubricate the spring washers, then install them with the convex sides facing the bolt head (see fig. 5.14).
Fig. 5.14. The convex surface of the crankshaft pulley hub washers must be facing the bolt head
15. Lubricate the bolt threads with oil, then install the hub mounting bolt.
16. Tighten the hub bolt, holding it from turning with a device. Tighten the hub mounting bolt to the required torque. Be careful not to get injured.
17. Install the crankshaft pulley/vibration damper as described earlier in this paragraph.
