111 Series Engine End Cover Installation Details

111 Series Engine End Cover Installation Details


1. The installation details of the 111 Series engine end cover are shown in the illustration to which all references in the text refer.

2. Remove the transmission (see Chapter Manual gearbox or Automatic transmission).

3. On models with manual transmission, remove the clutch assembly (see Chapter Transmission line).

4. Remove the flywheel/drive plate (see Section Removal and installation the flywheel/drive disc).

5. Inspect the engine for signs of leaks, replace the rear crankshaft oil seal if necessary (see below).

6. Remove the mounting bolts (4 and 5).

7. Using the protrusions indicated by the arrows, separate the end cover (1) from the engine.

8. Examine the condition of the oil seal (21), replace it if necessary (see below).

9. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

1. The installation details of the 111 Series engine crankshaft rear oil seal are shown in the illustration to which all references in the text refer.

2. Remove the engine end cover (see above).

3. Using a screwdriver, remove the rear oil seal (21).

4. Press the new seal into the NEW end cap from the back of the end cap.

5. Reinstall the removed components in the reverse order of removal.

1. The installation details of the end cover of the 112 and 113 series engines are shown in the illustration to which all references in the text refer.

2. Remove the transmission (see Chapter Automatic transmission).

3. Remove the drive disc (see Section Removal and installation the flywheel/drive disc).

4. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the end cover (1) by carefully prying it off in the places indicated by the arrows.

5. Examine the condition of the oil seal (3), if necessary, replace the cover assembly with the oil seal.

6. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

2. The seal cannot be removed from the end cover and is replaced together with the latter (see above).
