Replacing the rear wheel drive shaft protective cover (Mercedes-Benz E-Class W123)
If the drive protective cover is damaged, it must be replaced. The work requires a special tool. If a leak in the protective cover is detected at the point where the internal connection is looped, the entire rear wheel drive shaft must be replaced.
