Installing the drive shaft seal into the bearing cap of later models |
1. Remove the desired wheel drive shaft as described previously.
2. Remove the seal with a screwdriver.
3. Clean the seating surfaces; if the shaft surface is worn, the shaft must be replaced.
4. Lightly oil the outside and sealing lips of the new oil seal, then use a drift to press the oil seal into the bearing cap or crankcase.
5. Install the wheel drive shaft as described previously.
