Rear window defroster (Mercedes-Benz A-Class W168)

The rear window defroster switch is located on the center console.

1. Turn the ignition key to position 1 or 2.

2. Press the symbol on the switch. The indicator light 1 on the switch will light up.

It is recommended to remove any snow or ice from the outside of the rear window before turning on the rear window defroster.

The heater is a major consumer of the on-board network, so it should be turned off as soon as the rear window is clean.

The heater switches off automatically 12 minutes after switching on.

If many consumers are connected or the battery voltage is insufficient, the rear window heater may switch off.

In this case, the indicator light on the switch will flash.

When voltage appears, the heater turns on automatically.
