Installing the transverse arm (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 903)

To install the lower wishbone, perform the following operations:

  • place the lever on the jack. Raise the jack and insert the front rod of the lever into the eyes. Install the support pin through the holes in the lugs and the lever from the side shown in the figure 209, install the washer and tighten the nut. After this, lower the jack;

  • insert the rear rod of the lever into the eye, install the pin as shown in the figure 210, on the other side install a washer on it and tighten the nut by hand;
  • screw the top triangular plate (with or without anti-roll bar) and tighten the three mounting bolts to a torque of 40-50 N·m;
  • connect the hub assembly and the lever, tighten the ball joint pin nut to a torque of 280-300 N·m;
  • place the jack under the lever and lift it to the point where it is attached to the shock absorber strut. Tighten the four mounting bolts evenly to a torque of 300–320 N·m;
  • install the tie rod end pin, tighten the nut and tighten to a torque of 120-130 N·m;
  • install the brake caliper. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 175–205 N·m;
  • install the wheels, lower the vehicle and tighten the wheel mounting bolts to 160–180 N·m.
