- loosen the wheel bolts, mount the front of the car on supports, remove the front wheel from the desired side;
- ask an assistant to press the brake pedal and at this time loosen the screw with a slot for a Phillips screwdriver from the end surface of the brake disc. The disc can also remain bolted to the hub;
- unscrew and remove the brake caliper. To facilitate removal, rock the caliper several times in the direction of the disc to move the brake pads away. Fix the caliper with wire on the parts of the front axle so that it does not hang on the brake hose;
- Unscrew the brake disc screw completely and remove it. If necessary, use a rubber mallet;

- hex key (pic. 215) unscrew the fixing clip 2 (see fig. 213), then remove the square washer underneath;
- remove the hub from the steering knuckle. If it does not yield, use a puller similar to that shown in fig. 212. It is screwed to the hub and, hitting, compresses it. Attention: the outer bearing of the hub may fall out;
- the inner bearing together with the cuff remains in the hub and, if it is necessary to replace the bearing, it should be removed using a two-legged puller;
- if the bearing does not need to be replaced, the hub is installed back in the order described below. For bearing replacement, see the relevant subsection.
The installation of the front hub must be carried out in the following order:
- apply a little heat-resistant grease to the contact surface of the sealing ring with the axis;
- install the hub on the axle and press it with a rubber mallet;
- apply grease to the outer bearing and, tapping lightly, install it on the axle from the outside of the hub;
- install the adjusting washer and tighten the locking clip;
- adjust bearing play as described in subsection 8.5.1;
- Install the brake disc and secure the caliper to the steering knuckle. Tighten the bolts to 175-215 Nm;
- put a certain amount of heat-resistant grease into the hub cap and press it with a rubber mallet;
- install the wheel and lower the car. Tighten the wheel bolts to 160-180 Nm.
