1. Remove the radiator and cooling fan. Also remove, where required, the drive belts.
2. Using a hex socket wrench, remove the pulley and vibration damper bolts from the crankshaft front flange.
3. Hold the crankshaft from turning, remove the starter by inserting a screwdriver with a wide blade into the flywheel ring gear. If the flywheel (driving disk) already removed, insert the two bolts back into the crankshaft and operate the lever.
4. Turn away a bolt of a forward flange of a cranked shaft and remove special washers.
5. Align the marks on the flange (balancing disc) and crankshaft and remove the flange with a puller. Remove dowel pins.
6. Remove the oil seal with a screwdriver.
7. If necessary, remove the spacer and replace it with a new one.
8. Clean the gland cavity and install the spacer in place by lightly tapping it.
9. Lightly lubricate the lip of the gland, then fit it flush into the seat using a metal drift.
10. Install the flange on the crankshaft and lightly tapping the dowel pins.
11. Place the special washers on the flange bolt, guiding their concave surfaces towards the head, then insert and tighten the bolt to the required torque.
12. Install vibration damper, pulley and tighten bolts.
13. Install drive belts, radiator and cooling fan.
