The front crankshaft oil seal is installed in the camshaft drive cover and can be replaced on an engine installed on a car if an oil leak is detected. First of all, you need to clarify the place of the leak, maybe this is a leak in the cover connector. In this case, the camshaft cover seal must be replaced (see section 2.4).
Remove damper and crankshaft pulley (section 2.8).
Remove the seal from the cover using a screwdriver. To prevent damage to the cover or crankshaft, place a thick gasket under the screwdriver blade.
Check the sealing surface of the sleeve. If there is surface wear, the sleeve must be replaced.
Clean all parts, if necessary, round the edges of the hole for the stuffing box.
Fill the gap between the sealing and dust-proof edges with 1 g of long-life grease and carefully place the oil seal on the crankshaft and press it into the camshaft drive cover.
Install damper (section 2.8).
