Replacement of a back epiploon is made without removal of a cover.
In the presence of wear on the surface of the crankshaft, a repair oil seal can be installed, in which the sealing lip is offset. Nominal size stuffing box 13.0 mm wide, repair 10.5 mm.
When replacing the oil seal, do the following:
Disconnect gearbox (section 9.1).
Remove the torque converter drive discs.
Remove the oil seal with a screwdriver, in order to avoid damage to other parts, place a thick lining under the stop of the screwdriver. Check the sealing surface on the crankshaft and, depending on its condition, install a nominal or repair oil seal.
Press in the new seal until it stops. Apply 1 g of long-life grease between the seal and dust lip. On fig. 44 shows the position of the cover when pressing the stuffing box.

Carry out the rest of the work in reverse order, e.g. installing the drive discs for the automatic transmission.
