Note. All nodes should be marked to ensure correct assembly.
1. Remove the pressure pads from the top of the valves.
2. Using a valve spring compressor, compress the springs one by one so that the split locks can be removed (crackers). Release the fixture and remove the plate and spring. If the plate is difficult to open, release the tool and lightly tap the top of the plate with a hammer. Make sure that the fixture is firmly seated on the spring plate.
3. Remove the valves from the cylinder head.
4. Slide the valve stem seals off the top of the guide bushings and remove the spring seats. If necessary, unscrew the ball pins of the cam followers from the head.
