Removal



Removal


1. Remove the air cleaner cross pipe by releasing the sleeve clamps.

2. Remove the engine ventilation hose (22) from the cylinder head housing, after loosening the hose clamp.

3. Disconnect the cover spring clip (16) from the side and lift the cover upwards. Loosen the bolts (3) and remove the cover (17).

4. Remove all spark plug plugs (2), preferably using special pliers.

5. Disconnect the spring clamp securing the lambda probe wire on the side and remove it.

6. Unscrew the bolts (1) of the cylinder head housing.

Please note: The bolts are different lengths, so please note their positions for later assembly.


7. Remove the cylinder head housing (18) with the sealing gasket (20).

Installation



1. Check the integrity of the sealing gasket, replace if necessary. When installing the gasket, pay special attention to the correct fit in the rear recesses.

2. Tighten the cylinder head housing bolts evenly to 10 Nm.

3. Secure the lambda probe wire with a spring clamp.

4. Install the spark plug boots in the proper sequence.

5. Screw in the bolts and secure the covers with spring clips.



6. Place the engine ventilation hose on and secure with hose clamps.

7. Install the air filter cross pipe.

8. Bring the engine to operating temperature and check the cylinder head cover for leaks, especially in the rear recesses and spark plug holes.
