1. Remove the V-ribbed belt.

2. Unscrew the cooling compressor (arrows) and hang it on the side with the wires connected.

3. Disassemble the exhaust system.

4. Drain the coolant from the engine block.

5. Unbolt the propeller shaft from the gearbox and press it back. Loosen the propeller shaft/intermediate spacer mounting bolts, loosen the clamping nut and push the propeller shaft back as far as possible.

6. Place a jack with a wooden spacer under the gearbox. Raise the gearbox slightly.

7. Remove the rear bracket (12) with the bearing (18). To do this, unscrew the bolts (14 and 15) and the nut (16) (see picture.).

Caution! Disconnect the ground wire (11) between the gearbox and the body.*

9. Disconnect the shift levers from the gearbox by removing the retaining spring clips (arrows).

12. Hook the engine with a cable. To do this, thread a suitable cable or chain through the eyes (arrows). Using a repair jack, slightly lift the engine.

13. Remove the Allen bolts (arrow) from the front engine mounts from the bottom of the vehicle's frame crossmember. The right mount bolt is shown in the illustration.

14. Remove the upper bolts connecting the engine to the gearbox.

15. Use a pry bar to push the engine away from the gearbox and lift it up.

16. Turn the engine with the gearbox at an angle and lift it. Keep the engine position at an angle to the gearbox while lifting them, the maximum tilt angle is 45°.

Caution! Raise the system very carefully to avoid damaging the body. Pay special attention to the rear engine lugs and the engine oil filter. Also, check that all connections are disconnected.
