Cylinder Head Cover — Removal and Installation (Mercedes-Benz E-Class W124)

Removal

1. Remove the ground cable from the battery.

2. Open the hood and place it in a vertical position.

3. On turbocharged engines, remove the air duct connecting the turbocharger to the intake manifold.

4. Loosen the clamp and remove the crankcase ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover.

5. Unscrew the bolts and remove the cylinder head cover. Remove the gasket.

Installation

1. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. If necessary, replace the cylinder head cover gasket.
