4. Clamp the suction hose 6 (Fig. 5.50) and the discharge hose 4 with clamps.

5. Loosen the clamps and disconnect the fuel hoses. Collect any leaked fuel with a rag. Mark the hoses and fittings with tags to facilitate subsequent assembly.

For V6 engine additionally:

6. Loosen the clamp and remove the ventilation hose from fitting 5.

7. Remove the hollow bolt from the fuel pump.

8. Disconnect the fuel pump connector.

9. Unscrew bolt 7 of bracket 2.

10. Remove the fuel pump 9 together with the plastic sleeve 8.

Installation

11. Install fuel pump 9 into plastic sleeve 8. Insert the assembled unit into bracket 2.

Caution! The plastic bushing must protrude from both sides of the bracket to prevent contact between the fuel pump body and the bracket. Otherwise, local corrosion may occur.

12. Secure the fuel pump to the bracket.

13. Connect the contact connector.

14. Place the suction 6 and discharge 4 hoses on the fittings and secure them with clamps.

For V6 engine additionally:

15. Place the ventilation hose on fitting 5 and secure it with a clamp.

16. Tighten the hollow bolt to 25 N·m, installing new copper sealing washers. If fuel leaks, tighten the bolt to 30 N·m.

For all models:

17. Remove the clamps from the hoses that were installed during removal.

18. Lower the vehicle.

19. Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
