Pic. 5.48. Location of the fuel pump on the car
The fuel pump with fuel filter is located on the bottom of the body, on the right in front of the rear axle (pic. 5.48).
Removing
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the storage battery.
Attention! When the wire is disconnected from the negative terminal of the battery, the codes entered in them, such as the radio code, are erased in the memory devices.
2. Raise the car and place it on supports.
Pic. 5.49. Cover position marking: 1 - cover
3. Mark the position of cover 1 (pic. 5.49) to facilitate subsequent assembly.
Pic. 5.50. Fuel pump with fuel filter: 1 - injection hose with a hollow bolt (V6 engine); 2 - bracket; 3 - fuel filter; 4 - discharge hose; 5 - hose fitting for air removal (V6 engine); 6 - suction hose; 7 - bolt; 8 - plastic sleeve; 9 - fuel pump; 10 - sealing ring
4. Pinch the suction hose 6 (pic. 5.50) and pressure hose with 4 clamps.
5. Loosen the clamps and disconnect the fuel hoses. Collect leaked fuel with a rag. Label hoses and fittings for ease of reassembly.
For V6 engine optional:
6. Loosen the clamp and remove the ventilation hose from the fitting 5.
7. Turn away a hollow bolt from the fuel pump.
8. Disconnect the fuel pump connector.
9. Turn away a bolt 7 of an arm 2.
10. Take out the fuel pump 9 together with the plastic sleeve 8.
Installation
11. Install the fuel pump 9 in the plastic sleeve 8. Insert the assembled assembly into the bracket 2.
Attention! The plastic sleeve must protrude from both sides of the bracket so that there is no contact between the fuel pump housing and the bracket. Otherwise, localized corrosion may occur.
12. Fix the fuel pump in an arm.
13. Connect a contact socket.
14. Put the suction 6 and discharge 4 hoses on the fittings and secure them with clamps.
For V6 engine optional:
15. Put the ventilation hose on fitting 5 and secure it with a clamp.
16. Tighten the hollow bolt to 25 Nm using new copper seals. If fuel leaks, it is allowed to tighten the bolt with a torque of 30 Nm.
For all models:
17. Remove the clips from the hoses that were installed during removal.
18. Lower the car.
19. Connect a wire to the negative plug of the storage battery.
20. Set the clock and enter the necessary codes into the memory devices.
21. Start the engine and check the pump connections to the fuel lines for leaks.
22. Install protective cover 1 (pic. 5.49) fuel pump.
