Cars with diesel engines.
The fuel supply pump is mounted on the front end of the cylinder head cover and is driven by the camshaft.
Removal
1. Disconnect the fuel shut-off solenoid valve, see the relevant chapter.
2. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the fuel cut-off valve bracket.
3. Disconnect the supply hose 1 together with the sealing ring (see illustration). The hose is disconnected in the same way as from the fuel cut-off valve 4, see the relevant chapter.

4. Unscrew the two bolts 3 securing the fuel injection pump 2 with socket heads and remove the pump (see illustration 4.3).
Installation
5. Clean the sealing surfaces.
6. Reinstall the fuel injection pump, replacing its old sealing ring with a new one. Make sure that the pump catch engages the camshaft.
7. Screw in both pump mounting bolts and tighten them to 9 Nm.
Caution: When installing a new fuel injection pump, fill it with clean diesel fuel and rotate the pump several times.
8. Connect the fuel line using a new O-ring and ensure a secure fit by pushing it back and forth.
9. Install the fuel shut-off valve bracket into place, inserting it into the groove on the fuel supply pump, and secure with bolts.
10. Reinstall the fuel shut-off solenoid valve.
