Vehicles with a gasoline engine.
The pressure in the fuel system is maintained even after the engine is turned off. Relieve pressure before opening the fuel system.
Attention! Make sure the workplace is well ventilated. Fuel fumes are poisonous. No open flame near the workplace! Fire hazard! The workplace must be equipped with a fire extinguisher!
Pressure relief
1. Remove the cap from the fuel filler neck, and then screw it back on.
In workshops, the pressure in the system is relieved through the fitting of the fuel distribution line. The sequence of actions in this case is as follows:
2. Unscrew cover 1 from the fitting (see illustration).
3. Connect a hose with a valve, e.g. KLANN-KL-0120-54, to the fuel distribution pipe fitting 2 (see illustration 2.2).
4. Open the connected valve and drain a small amount of fuel into a container. This will relieve pressure in the fuel system.
5. Close the valve and screw the cap onto the fitting.
