Removing
1. Raise the vehicle and place it securely on stands.
2. Moisten the bolts and nuts of the exhaust system with a special rust remover.
3. Remove from below a casing of the engine and a transmission.
4. Disconnect the oxygen concentration sensor connector.
5. Disconnect a reception pipe from a final collector.
Note. Ask an assistant to support the release system.

Loosen nuts 1 (pic. 5.56) front exhaust pipe mounting bracket and remove the threaded plate.
6. Remove the suspension rubber parts and lower the exhaust system assembly to the floor.
Installation
7. Check up a technical condition of all details of system of release.
8. Clean the connections from corrosion and deposits.
Attention! Install only new seals, bolts, nuts. To facilitate removal of the system, lubricate the mounting parts with LIQUI MOLI LM0–508-ASC copper paste. Do not allow paste to enter the downpipe in front of the catalytic converter.
9. Install the exhaust system on the car and secure with nuts (without delay) exhaust pipe flange to exhaust manifold.
10. Connect the exhaust system to the body with rubber suspension parts. The distance of the exhaust system parts from the body parts must be within 25 mm.

11. Install the downpipe threaded plate and tighten the new nuts 1 (pic. 5.57) fastening to the bracket with a torque of 20 Nm.
Connect the oxygen concentration sensor connector.
12. Establish the lower board of a motor compartment.
13. Start up the engine and check up system of release of the fulfilled gases on tightness.
Attention! Disposal of the catalytic converter. End-of-life catalytic converters contain precious metals that can be reused. Mercedes-Benz service departments accept used catalytic converters in exchange for new ones at a surcharge.
Attention! Do not open the body of the catalytic converter, as it contains highly toxic substances.
